With the required water and power supplies available, hydro mechanization is one of the most efficient methods of performing earthworks, which combine dredging, transportation and soil laying. This method enables to provide the highest quality of earthworks, with the smallest number of working hours. Moreover, hydraulic soil laying results in the latter’s required density in construction without additional efforts for compaction, and due to the fact that loamy and sludgy particles are washed away together with waste water, the quality of a ready-made earthwork structure is very high. It should be also noted that this method of earthwork performance meets the ecological requirements.

In addition to the above features, dredging activities have the following advantages:

  • low energy-equivalent fuel ratio
  • a rapid process of earthwork settlement on a weak base due to higher loads during inwash
  • possibility of simultaneous (to laying) fractionation of soil through natural division
  • development of both water-encroached and dry trenches (by using a hydromonitor-dredger approach) and, consequently, excavation of large trenches and canals without drainage and dewatering
  • transfer of soil with a greater intensity to the restricted territories and hard-to-reach areas of structures, for example to narrow canyons, structure pockets, etc.
  • no need in approach motor roads from trenches to construction structures
  • considerable reduction of space allocated for trenches due to an increase in their depths

Sibhydromekhstroy’s dredgers worked in Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Omsk, Kemerovo and Sverdlovsk regions; Altai and Krasnoyarsk Krai, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous okrug, Republic of Sakha (Yakutiya).
The experience obtained and our powerful facilities allow for applying hydro mechanization to solve the following tasks:

  • inwash of a subgrade of highways and railroads, dams, bridge approaches, platforms for industrial and civil construction
  • gas-field development
  • construction of shipping and irrigation canals, port areas; river bed degradation; cleanup of water basins
  • organic slime excavation
  • washing up ravines and lowlands
  • inwash of earth platforms over deleterious burials and waste storage sites
  • inwash of dams and beaches to protect the banks from erosion
  • erection of ash-disposal area dams, pumping of ash-disposal areas/tailing dumps
  • stripping work at mining fields
  • excavation and grading of non-metallic building materials and railroad ballast from water-encroached fields
  • production of moulding/glass-melting sand
  • beatification of recreation areas, development of artificial ponds and beaches.

In addition to domestic electrically and independently driven dredgers of different capacities, we use Finnish multipurpose dredgers, WaterMaster Classic III и Classic IV. These powerful machines enable us to perform earthworks that in the past would require many man-hours and were considered economically unattractive and in some cases practically impossible. WaterMaster Classic III и Classic IV dredgers are equipped with a few detachable components: a number of hydraulic buckets, a cutter pump, a rake and a piling bucket.

On acquiring these dredgers the company has met all market needs in dredged earthwork, namely:

  • dredging and cleaning work in small rivers, lakes, canals, ponds and any other water basins
  • dredging in locations where other machines fail to operate (inundated areas, shallow water, shore lines, storage ponds)
  • quay wall construction for boats and yachts
  • preparation and beautification of pond banks
  • removal of shrubs, plants and any vegetation
  • widening of water basins
  • construction of boat canals or their deepening
  • creation of artificial islets
  • construction of creeks for fish-farming.
